Two More Commissioners Resign From Fubara’s Cabinet

The political crisis in Rivers State has intensified as two key members of Governor Sim Fubara’s cabinet tender their resignations.

Dr. Gift Worlu, Commissioner for Housing, and Jacobson B. Nbina, Commissioner of Transportation, are the latest to step down.

“I hereby resign my appointment as the Hon. Commissioner for Transport, Rivers State with effect from today, Thursday 14th December 2023,” Nbina stated in his resignation letter addressed to the governor.

This follows the mass exodus on Thursday, where six commissioners aligned with former Governor Nyesom Wike decided to sever ties with Governor Fubara. The first to make this bold move was the state’s Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Prof Zacchaeus Adangor, setting the stage for a cascade of resignations.
