DSS Takes High Security Measures as Supreme Court Decides Fate of IPOB Leader

Amed operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) have assumed control over the security arrangements at the Supreme Court in anticipation of the much-anticipated judgment in the case between the Federal Government and Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

Supreme Court Set to Deliver Judgment in Nnamdi Kanu’s Appeals

DSS operatives took stringent measures by blocking access roads leading to the court and the Villa gate, preventing litigants, sympathizers, and even accredited journalists with official tags from entering the premises. Only after the intervention of high-ranking court officials were journalists begrudgingly allowed access.

The main entrance to the courtroom was obstructed by an unmarked security vehicle, where journalists underwent thorough frisking before gaining entry.

The Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun-led panel is awaited to deliver the decisive judgment. The court had previously slated today for the verdict on the appeal seeking the release of Nnamdi Kanu from detention, with a five-member panel giving the green light after the adoption of final briefs of argument by counsels for both parties on October 5.
