The Acting Governor of Ondo State, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, made a triumphant return to the state on Wednesday, following a crucial meeting with President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
Aiyedatiwa’s return comes after two days of deliberations with the president and other stakeholders, aimed at resolving the political logjam in Ondo State.
Arriving at Akure Airport via a commercial airline, Aiyedatiwa was warmly received by Ifedayo Abegunde, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Director of Corporate Affairs at the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC).

The absence of Governor Akeredolu had escalated political tensions in the state, prompting calls for the constitutional transfer of power to Acting Governor Aiyedatiwa. This situation led to divisions among members of the State Executive Council, with some commissioners aligning themselves with Aiyedatiwa.
Moreover, allegations surfaced that certain officials were involved in forging the governor’s signature during his absence, adding another layer of complexity to the situation.
In a bid to address the populace and possibly alleviate concerns, Acting Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa is scheduled to deliver a Statewide Broadcast on Thursday, December 14, 2023, at 7:00 am.
The broadcast will be aired live on OSRC TV, Orange 94.5 FM, and Sunshine 96.5 Alalaye FM. Media organizations across the state are encouraged to tune in to the State-owned media stations for the important address.
