The letter stated, “Mama was indeed a matriarch, whose life was a testament to the enduring values of hard work, honesty, and love for family. At 88, she had lived a fulfilling life, leaving an indelible mark not just on her family but on the people whose lives she touched. Her nurturing resilience and dedication to family and community are traits that we will always cherish when we remember her.
“I understand that no amount of words can take away the pain you feel at this time, but please take solace in the fact that she lived a worthy and impactful life. Her legacy lives on in you, her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her values, teaching, and love will continue to guide and inspire generations of your family. Please accept my deepest condolences on behalf of the government and people of Lagos State, and indeed, on my own behalf, for this significant loss.”
