President Bola Tinubu, in a historic move, departed from the Presidential Wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, at 10:35 am today for Maiduguri, the capital of Borno State.
This marks Tinubu’s first visit to the North-Eastern region of the country since assuming office as the President of Nigeria.
The purpose of this visit is to attend the Nigerian Army Annual Conference, where President Tinubu will serve as the Special Guest of Honour. The Director of Army Public Relations, Brigadier General Onyema Nwachukwu, announced key details of the opening ceremony, emphasizing the President’s active participation.

The itinerary for the event includes an address to the troops of Joint Task Force North East Operation HADIN KAI. President Tinubu is also slated to inspect the ongoing development of the Nigerian Army Reference Hospital in Maiduguri. Moreover, the President will lay the foundation stone for Headquarters 7 Division.
The Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) reported on the departure and highlighted the significance of the President’s visit to the troubled North-Eastern region.
