In a fervent response to recent claims, Governor Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State has refuted allegations suggesting that some commissioners and state officials have been forging his signature.
The accusations surfaced following statements made by Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), Kayode Ajulo, who asserted that Akeredolu’s illness-induced absence created a power vacuum exploited by certain individuals to forge official documents.
Ajulo’s allegations insinuated the existence of a clandestine group, colloquially referred to as cabals, capitalizing on the governor’s incapacitation to manipulate and legitimize their actions through the alleged signature forgery.
Governor Akeredolu, through his Chief Press Secretary, Richard Olatunde, dismissed Ajulo’s remarks as “utterly preposterous and ludicrous.” Akeredolu challenged Ajulo to substantiate his claims by presenting concrete evidence supporting the assertion of signature forgery.
In an official statement, Olatunde went further, accusing Ajulo of relying on “fabricated signatures” circulating on social media. The Chief Press Secretary expressed the governor’s dissatisfaction with the lack of specificity in Ajulo’s allegations and emphasized the importance of transparency and accountability.

Governor Akeredolu, maintaining his stance on the matter, challenged Ajulo to provide the alleged forged documents or disclose the identity of the purported beneficiary involved in the alleged forgery.
Olatunde said:
“We are more than willing to investigate the matter and prosecute anyone found culpable.
“But we cannot entertain baseless speculations and unfounded claims.
“The individuals behind these fabricated signatures are the real culprits engaging in criminal activities.
“The truth of the matter is only Governor Akeredolu can claim that his signature has been forged.”
