UBA Retains Africa’s Leading Bank Position, Bags Various Titles at The Banker Awards

United Bank for Africa (UBA) Plc has once again proven its dominance in the African banking sector by clinching a total of nine prestigious awards at The Banker Awards 2023, organized by the leading  Banker Magazine, a publication of Financial Times of London.
The awards ceremony, held in London, saw UBA securing the highly coveted title of Bank of the Year Africa 2023, reaffirming its status as the leading financial institution on the continent. UBA’s subsidiaries also excelled, winning the Bank of the Year accolade in eight out of the 20 African countries where the bank operates.
The winning subsidiaries are UBA Cameroon, UBA Chad, UBA Ghana, UBA Cote d’Ivoire, UBA Mozambique, UBA Congo, UBA Sierra Leone, and UBA Tanzania. This recognition underscores UBA’s significant impact and dominance in diverse African markets, marking the second time in three years that the bank has clinched the regional award.
Group Managing Director of UBA, Oliver Alawuba, expressed gratitude and excitement, emphasizing that these awards serve as reassurance that the bank is on track in consolidating its leadership position in Africa and creating superior value for stakeholders.
