The governor of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki has reacted to the cancellation of December shows by the Afrobeats superstar, Rema.
Top Society recalls that the ‘Calm Down’ crooner who was initially scheduled to tour the cities of Lagos, Abuja, and Benin, said due to health reasons, he wouldn’t be performing anywhere this December.
The 23-year-old made this known on Wednesday night via his Instagram story, where he notified anticipating fans that he is heartbroken by the sudden development.
Reacting to Rema’s announcement via his Twitter handle on Thursday, the Edo governor said the people of the state are proud and solidly behind him every step of the way.
Obaseki’s noted that Rema’s extraordinary feat of selling out London’s O2 Arena to amassing 1.6 billion streams on Spotify this year not only shows that he is exceptionally talented but also serves as an eye-opener for young creatives.
He said,
