Godrej Nigeria Limited, a leading consumer goods company and emerging markets FMCG leader, marked a significant milestone with the launch of its newly constructed wet hair production factory in Lagos, Nigeria. The inauguration ceremony, held in Ikeja, Lagos State, was officiated by Babajide Sanwoolu, the Executive Governor of Lagos State, on Friday, November 24, 2023.
Governor Sanwoolu applauded Godrej Nigeria Limited for its “audacious step” in deepening its investment and market share in the Lagos consumer market sector. The newly established production line is expected to enhance the company’s capacity to meet the growing local demand for its products.
“This is a strategic investment decision being made by Godrej Nigeria Limited to transform its business and deepen its investment in consumer goods. This is a testament to our willingness to collaborate with the private sector and bring about sustainable economic benefits to better our citizens’ lives,” stated Governor Sanwoolu.
The Governor emphasized his administration’s commitment to eliminating red tapes and regulatory impediments hindering business growth in the state, expressing a strong willingness for continued collaboration with the private sector to enhance the livelihoods of residents.

Kayode Oladapo, Chief Executive Officer of Godrej Group, West Africa, highlighted the company’s dual focus on market expansion and significant impact on people and communities. He stated, “This is a significant milestone in our company’s journey here in Nigeria, and we are not just keen on growing or expanding our footprint in businesses but impacting lives and people in ways that will make a lasting impact.”
