Popular Nollywood makeup artist Onilogbo Hakeem, better known as Hakeem Effect, and his crew on Tuesday were attacked by kidnappers.
Hakeem, who was behind the creation of actress Bimbo Adedmoye’s ‘breast’ in Kunle Afolayan’s Netflix hit Anikulapo via an Instagram post narrated how he and his crew narrowly escaped the attack which left their vehicle damaged.
While expressing appreciation to God for life, Hakeem said his driver, known as Legba, was shot at a close range, as bullets were flying everywhere during the attack.
He disclosed that they were attacked just after Ikene town in Ogun state, noting that the crew made it out alive.
Speaking about the incident, Hakeem said:
“I just got robbed at Ikene, kidnappers, they have kidnapped a lot of people, so thank God for my driver, ah Olorun, their bullets shattered.”
He captioned the video:
“I thank God almighty for my life and the lives of my crew, we were attacked by kidnapers just after ikene 20 minutes ago, they shot at us shattered the glass, kidnapped people …..but I thank God I’m alive, I thank God my driver (legba) was shot at a close range, bullet flying everywhere but God drove for us, me my wife and my staff are alive.”
Reacting to the news, top celebrities like Odunlade Adekola, Bimbo Oshin, Femi Adebayo and others heavy weight in the movie industry stormed the comment section of the post to sympathise with Hakeem and his crew.
