In the midst of growing controversy over his recent acquisition of a Gulfstream aircraft, Pastor E.A. Adeboye, the prominent figure at the helm of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, has stirred public intrigue by asserting that he did not personally purchase the jet.
In a recent video posted by Divine Encounter, the General Overseer emphasized that it was divine intervention that facilitated the acquisition.
Pastor Adeboye addressed the public’s skepticism, revealing that some had mistakenly assumed he personally procured the aircraft. “Some people thought I bought a jet. I didn’t buy any jets,” he clarified, indicating that the source of the jet was not of his own doing. He pointedly stated, “God bought it for me,” leaving many to ponder the implications of his claim.
Unveiling a deeply personal connection to this acquisition, Pastor Adeboye disclosed a revelatory experience dating back to 1975, during which he purportedly received a divine promise of three jets from the Almighty. Recounting this episode, he offered insight into the spiritual significance underpinning the recent purchase.

According to him,
“Way back in 1975, at a time when I had never even visited Ikeja, at a time when I had never seen the inside of a plane, God promised me, son, I’m going to buy you three jets. I couldn’t understand. What was he talking about? I didn’t even know that an individual could have a jet. That’s why when the time came and he provided one and some people started crying, I didn’t answer a word. People said talk to them, explain. I didn’t explain, and I didn’t say a thing because if you’re crying when I have one, what will you do when I have three? And I’m telling you to tell you this: one day, not too long from now, there’ll be an airport belonging to the Redeemed Christian Church of God, and your jet will be packed there. If you believe that, shout hallelujah. How is it going to happen? I don’t know. Some people thought I bought a jet, I didn’t. Where do I get the money from? I don’t buy a jet; God bought it for me.”
Despite his assertions of divine providence, the controversial nature of the acquisition has triggered debate and criticism. With public scrutiny intensifying, many are calling for a more detailed explanation regarding the source of funds behind the high-end purchase.
