In a bid to address the escalating political crisis in Rivers State, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governors’ Forum, led by Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, convened at the office of former Rivers State governor and current minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, earlier today.
The visit was a direct response to the recent developments in Rivers State, following the purported impeachment proceedings initiated by the Rivers State House of Assembly against Governor Siminalayi Fubara on Monday.
Speculations of a strained relationship between Fubara and Wike have added complexity to the unfolding situation.
The PDP Governors’ Forum had recently released a communiqué, outlining their decision to meet with Wike to address the ongoing crisis in the state. The meeting held at the Oyo State Lodge in Abuja on Tuesday, November 1, and today’s visit to Wike’s office signifies a collective effort to find a resolution.
Notable figures present at the meeting included Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi, Governor Kefas Agbu of Taraba, Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa, and other prominent members of the forum.
