Ondo State’s Deputy Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa’s apology to Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu has failed to sway the State Assembly.
The Speaker, Hon Olamide Oladiji, has emphasized that the apology remains a personal matter between Aiyedatiwa and the Governor, and it does not concern the Assembly.
Speaker Oladiji firmly stated that the Assembly is set to persist with the impeachment process against Aiyedatiwa, despite the public apology.

Aiyedatiwa’s apology last week was reportedly motivated by the desire to address the negative news surrounding his actions, as he expressed regret for the inconvenience caused.
Responding to the situation, Governor Akeredolu, through his Senior Special Assistant on Special Duties, Dr Doyin Odebowale, highlighted that the appropriate path for Aiyedatiwa would be to confront the allegations of gross misconduct brought forward by the Assembly.
In the face of speculations about internal turmoil within the Assembly, Speaker Oladiji clarified that efforts are being made to foster unity among the lawmakers.
