President Bola Tinubu has strongly urged the Supreme Court to dismiss the application made by Atiku Abubakar, the Presidential Candidate of the PDP, seeking to introduce newly obtained academic records as evidence in the ongoing appeal against the judgment of the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal.
Tinubu Denies Allegations, Accuses Atiku of Fabrication
Tinubu asserted that the move by Abubakar is a continuation of his earlier strategy of filing unfounded petitions and then gathering evidence at a later stage.
The President emphasized that the evidence in question was not part of the records or judgment of the tribunal, raising doubts about its authenticity and relevance.
In response, Atiku Abubakar’s legal team, after an extensive legal battle in the U.S. Court for the Northern District of Illinois, obtained Tinubu’s academic records, revealing that the university never issued him an original or replacement certificate.

Amid mounting curiosity about the origin of the certificate submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Atiku Abubakar remains resolute in his pursuit to annul Tinubu’s election victory, citing constitutional provisions disqualifying candidates who present forged certificates to the electoral commission.
