Nigeria mourns the loss of a distinguished figure, Alhaji Sulaimanu Baffa, who passed away at the age of 85. Alhaji Baffa, widely recognized for his extensive contributions to both the financial sector and public service, leaves behind a profound legacy.

Alhaji Sulaimanu Baffa held numerous esteemed positions throughout his illustrious career, including serving as the Managing Director of renowned institutions such as the United Bank for Africa, Union Bank, and the Nigerian Security Printing and Minting Company. Beyond his accomplishments in finance, Alhaji Baffa also played a pivotal role in public service. He once served as the Permanent Secretary in the Old Kano state, demonstrating his unwavering commitment to governance and administration.

”I am saddened by the death of Alh. Sulaimanu Baffa, the Chairman of the Jigawa State Elders Forum and a former Permanent Secretary in the Old Kano State. He was also the former Managing Director of UBA, Union Bank and the Nigerian Security Printing and Minting Company.

”At 85, he had lived a fulfilled life, which has been highly beneficial to the people. I condole his family and the Jigawa State people while also praying for his admittance into Jannatul-Firdaus by Allah (SWT).
