TOPSOCIETYNG

The hospital where late singer Illerioluwa Aloba, Mohbad, was reported to have died, Perez Medcare Hospital, Lekki, has stated that the late singer was brought in dead to the hospital.

The hospital denied treating or admitting the singer, stating he was already dead when he was brought in on September 12.

In a statement on Instagram on Monday, the hospital addressed the information circulating on social media claiming that Mohbad passed away at their facility.

“Attention of the Perez Medcare Hospital has been drawn to the misleading information being circulated in some social media platforms that Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba (AKA Mohbad) died in our medical facility,” the hospital noted.

Narrating the event, the hospital claimed that Mohbad’s lifeless body arrived at their facility at 4:30 pm on September 12, 2023.

The management also noted that upon examination by the medical team, it was evident that he showed no signs of life, including no pulse, heartbeat, vital signs, and fixed and dilated pupils.

“We consider it pertinent to put on record that his lifeless body was brought to our medical facility around 04:30 pm on the 12th of September 2023, and after assessment by our medical team, it was discovered that there was no sign of life in him, no central or peripheral pulse, no heartbeat, no recordable vital signs and his pupils were fixed and dilated.”

The management further noted that during attempts to perform Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), the hospital observed rigor mortis, which is the stiffening of certain body parts associated with death. They also claimed to have informed the individuals who had brought him that he was brought in dead.

“On attempting Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation, CPR, rigor mortis (stiffening of some parts of the body in relation to death) was observed and we informed the persons who brought him that it was a case of BID (Brought in Dead).

The management stated that they learned that Mohbad had been receiving treatment at home, including injections administered by a nurse, before the emergency that led to his arrival at the hospital.

“Upon inquiry about the circumstances leading to the emergency, we were informed that Mohbad was being treated at home by a nurse that administered injections on him. Let it be known that Mohbad was never admitted at our hospital and was not a patient of Perez Medcare Hospital”

The hospital clarified that the nurse responsible for Mohbad’s at-home treatment was not affiliated with Perez Medcare Hospital. Additionally, they stated that the video circulating on social media, showing Mohbad receiving treatment and alive, was not recorded at Perez Medcare Hospital.

“Also, the nurse who was said to be administering treatment on him at home is not a staff of Perez Medcare Hospital and the video of the medical facility circulating in the media space in which the late Mr. Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba ( MohBad) is seen alive and receiving treatment is not Perez Medcare Hospital,” the hospital concluded.

Top Society had reported details of the singer’s death and that the Police had exhumed his body to conduct an autopsy and commence investigation into the cause of his death.
