Armed gunmen on Sunday abducted two landlords in the Asokoro extension area of the Federal Capital Territory.
The assailants, who remain at large, are now demanding a hefty N20 million ransom for the safe release of the victims.
Eyewitnesses report that the armed men initially targeted one landlord, brandishing a gun to gain access to the premises. Subsequently, another victim was seized as he approached his residence.
Despite attempts to obtain a statement from the FCT Police spokesperson, Josephine Adeh, no response has been received as of the time of filing this report.
The Asokoro Commander of the Vigilante Group of Nigeria, Mohammed Seidu, confirmed the abduction, reassuring the public that collaborative efforts with the police are underway to rescue the kidnapped landlords.
“Policemen attached to the Asokoro Police Station are aware of the matter. We have been combing the nearby bushes to see if we can rescue them,” he said.
